“How do you change inflexible thinking habits or improvise if stuff doesn’t go the way u expected.” Repetition, routine, structure. That is the glue that keeps us together, but the world isn’t designed that way, and those around often seem to throw a wrench in our perfectly designed plans. While my immediate reaction is anger, I have been trying to stop myself from forcing others to follow my way (or the highway). Easier said than done. One strategy I’ve implemented is a method of silence. Whenever my plan has been altered, I know that anything that might come out of my mouth is bound to be aggressive and oppressive. Silence saves me from regrettable actions and also gives me an opportunity to formulate a new plan based on these sudden changes. Even a haphazard plan is better than swimming in the total chaos of destroyed plans.
